Ingredients
- 200 g spaghetti (or any pasta of choice)
- 200 g peeled shrimp (fresh or thawed)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated parmesan (optional)
- Juice of ½ lemon
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta cooks, heat butter and olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and chili flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Toss in the shrimp. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
- Add the drained pasta to the pan along with a splash of reserved pasta water. Toss everything together until well coated.
- Serve hot, topped with fresh parsley and grated parmesan if desired.
Notes
- You can swap shrimp with cooked chicken or mushrooms for a different twist.
- For a creamier version, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or a dash of cream before tossing the pasta.
- Add spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra veggies.
