Ingredients

  • 200 g spaghetti (or any pasta of choice)
  • 200 g peeled shrimp (fresh or thawed)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Grated parmesan (optional)
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  • While the pasta cooks, heat butter and olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and chili flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Toss in the shrimp. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
  • Add the drained pasta to the pan along with a splash of reserved pasta water. Toss everything together until well coated.
  • Serve hot, topped with fresh parsley and grated parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • You can swap shrimp with cooked chicken or mushrooms for a different twist.
  • For a creamier version, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or a dash of cream before tossing the pasta.
  • Add spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra veggies.
